What makes me so enthusiastic about coaching?
Allow me to tell you my story.
Growing up in former Czechoslovakia, I was always a curious observer. I studied psychology, education, and engineering – an unusual combination, I know! But my studies reflected my interest in both people and processes.
After completing my national service in the Czechoslovakian army, I realized that I longed for a freer life in the West. My wife and I sold everything we owned in secret and bought tickets for a flight to Cuba, saying we were going on holiday. During a refueling stop in Montreal, we were able to escape and start the formal process of immigrating to Canada.
I’ve often compared the challenging life experiences I’ve faced in my life to climbing. Today, I am fortunate to live in the Canadian Rockies in Canmore, Alberta near Calgary. I love the adventure of hikes to mountain summits. I value the camaraderie among hikers, and at the same time, I love the thoughtful solitude the wilderness brings.
As an engineering team manager in Calgary, I was always looking for ways to help people develop their full potential. Given my natural tendency to listen to people and support them, it was a logical step for me to become a business coach.

My Approach
My approach to coaching centres on both “impact” and “heart.”
I focus on helping clients to achieve real business results, and also to align these results with their deeply-held values and passions.
First, I listen.
The way I see it, coaching begins by listening with compassion… to your concerns, your setbacks, your dreams, and aspirations. I also listen for what might be unsaid. I tailor your coaching to what’s truly important to you!
Grounded in trust.
Inspiring, effective coaching is all about trust. My coaching conversations are confidential, and without judgment. I adhere to the International Coach Federation’s Code of Ethics.
Questions are the key.
My job as a coach is to ask questions that uncover what’s really going on and to uncover new possibilities for action.
Your strengths.
I help each client clarify their strengths, to appreciate what is going well in their work.
Experience has taught me that when people connect with their successes, they can begin to explore new possibilities.

Your most pressing challenges can be a jumping off point. Together, we can look at your priorities with renewed creativity and courage.
